FAQ

1. Where are you located?

We are on the right side of the Warrego Highway past Carmichael St heading towards Dalby. Turn down the first driveway and follow the signs around to the back of the building. All exiting traffic must flow anti-clockwise out the 2nd driveway.

2. How do I join?

Go to the register tab and click on the appropriate 'Membership' button. Fill out the registration form, pay the invoice and you are now a member of the Chinchilla Gymnastics Club! Please note that until payment is made, your gymnast's spot in the class is not confirmed.

3. Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes. If there is space in the chosen class then you may have one lesson, obligation free, before you pay any fees. If you decide to not continue in the class it is your responsibility to notify the Club at chinchillagymnastics@outlook.com. To secure your spot in the class after the trial, all you need to do is pay the invoice that was emailed to you. If you would like to have an obligation free lesson, fill out the trial membership enrolment form and we will get in touch to organise your trial lesson. Due to high demand we do not have space to offer trial lessons at the beginning of term 1.

4. What happens if I go on a waitlist for a class?

On the registration form, if your chosen class time has an orange 'waitlist' beside it that means that the child will go onto a waitlist for that class. They are not confirmed in that class yet. When a space becomes available the child will be moved from the waitlist into the class and an invoice will be emailed to you. This confirms that the child is enrolled and can start immediately once payment is made.

5. What fees need to payed?

There is an annual membership registration fee of $40 or $60 due at the beginning of each year. This includes club membership, Gymnastics Queensland affiliation, registration and insurance. If you start partway through the year then your membership registration fee will be reduced accordingly. Class fees are charged per term and vary depending on the length of the class the gymnast is enrolled in. We are registered with the Queensland Government's 'Get Started' scheme and welcome payments via the vouchers.

6. Is there a family discount?

Yes. Family Discounts apply for three (3) or more seperate class fees charged to the one family.  For any third class fee from the same immediate family, half of the standard term fee will be charged for that class.

7. Can I join a class part way through the term?

Yes you can. Your term fee will be calculated and adjusted to reflect how many weeks are left in the term when you enrol.

8. What do I wear to class?

For the Safety of Gymnasts and Coaches, Club Uniforms are Compulsory. KinderGym and FreeG are exempt. Gymnasts must wear training leotards/uniforms to all lessons.  New gymnasts will have one term in which to purchase a uniform, acceptable clothing in the meantime would be bike pants, form fitting stretch singlet or T-shirt.  No baggy, oversized clothing or hoodies, no clothes with zippers, buttons or cords and no jewellery are allowed (the only exception is stud earrings). Hair must be tied up out of the face. Please contact the Uniform Co-ordinator to arrange to buy your leotard.

9. What do I bring to class?

Yourself and a full water bottle. There is no drinking fountain at the gym however bottled water can be bought from the fridge for a gold coin.

10. Do parents have to stay?

Parents do not have to stay during class time (except for KinderGym and OpenGym) although they are required to escort their children into the gymnastics building and stay with them until the coach has called the gymnast onto the floor. After class has finished they need to pick up their child from inside the building and escort them to the car. If you choose to stay and watch the class we ask that you are seated off the training area and any children in your care are supervised at all times. No person (other than an enrolled athlete or coach/assistant) is allowed to enter onto the gymnastics training area or play on any equipment (including mats) before, during or after sessions.
